Assessment at Trinity Academy Richmond is used to inform teaching and learning in the classroom to ensure that the curriculum meets the needs of the children. It helps drive improvement for pupils and teachers, supporting school improvement and raising standards of achievement and attainment for all our pupils.
Teachers assessments are based on daily assessments of the children and more formal termly assessments using PIRA (Reading), PUMA (Maths) and GAPS (Grammar, Punctuation and Spelling). These assessments are used to inform future teaching and next steps for the children.
Statutory assessments are completed at the end of Reception, Year 1, Year 2 and Year 6.
We use a programme called ‘Target Tracker’ to monitor both coverage and attainment for each child in every subject. This also enables us to carefully track progress.
